Design tools, rebuilt for agents.
Brash is a native design tool for Mac where you and your AI agents work on the same canvas — the same layers, the same history, the same file.
Why Brash exists
Coding agents can now build whole products, but design tools still assume a person is holding the mouse. Agents get screenshots, exports and copy-pasted specs — never the design itself. Brash gives them the real thing: a canvas they can read and edit through the Model Context Protocol, while you watch every change land and keep the final word.
Anything an agent does is an ordinary edit. It shows up on the canvas as it happens, it sits in the same undo history as yours, and nothing leaves your Mac unless you send it.
How it is built
Brash is written in Rust and draws straight to the GPU. It is not a web page in a window: it opens large documents quickly, stays smooth while you zoom and drag, and gives memory back to the rest of your machine. A project is a folder of plain JSON that you can diff, review and keep in git.
Brash is designed in Brash. Its own interface, this website and the examples on it are Brash documents, drawn and refined on the canvas — often by an agent.
What we believe
- Your work stays yours. Designs live on your machine, in an open format.
- Agents are collaborators, not magic. Every edit is visible, reviewable and undoable.
- Fast is a feature. We measure frame times and memory on real documents before we claim anything.
- Bring your own agent. Claude Code, Codex or any MCP client works with Brash.
Who makes it
Brash is made by Wistfare. It is in preview on macOS today, with Windows and Linux to follow. If you would like to talk, write to us from the contact page.
